Since then, he has worked with physiotherapists, chiropractors, and athletic therapists. He taught massage therapy for seven years, giving up teaching to join the NHL and is now in his 10th season with the Ottawa Senators. He has also had the privilege of working for Team Canada in 2014 at the World Hockey Championships in Minsk. In 2016 he was involved in helping Team Canada in preparation for the World Cup of Hockey. He has also worked for Cirque du Soleil in 2012 and in 2016 helped their athletes prepare and recover from 4 straight days of performances.
He has volunteered his time to various hockey and soccer teams, and is currently working to educate young amateur athletes about the benefits of massage therapy and injury prevention.
Shawn’s primary focus remains helping his patients return to their activities through individualized treatment and education.
